Face Soap – New-Old Favourite for Skin Cleansing

If you asked mothers and grandmothers what they used to wash their faces, face soap would certainly be among the first answers. In recent years, this product has been somewhat forgotten. Under the invasion of gels, foams, scrubs, and other popular facial cleansing products, soap was pushed out of everyday use. However, it has recently been making a slow comeback. Is every soap good for the face, and which product is best for your skin? Read on to find out.

We are witnessing rapid and noticeable changes in the world of cosmetics and beauty rituals. Completely new types of products and improved formulas are constantly appearing on the market. Accordingly, many of us, following trends or simply seeking better solutions, change our skincare routines. For this reason, many have replaced traditional, solid soaps with creamy and liquid facial cleansers. These products certainly have their advantages, but that does not mean that soaps are bad.

The avoidance of using soap for facial cleansing has also been influenced by stories that soap dries out the skin. We cannot agree with these claims because not all soaps are harsh on the skin. We believe that stories about the negative effects of soap are driven by the fact that many people used the same soap for washing their faces as they did for washing their hands, which is absolutely wrong.

So, to answer the question from the introduction – not every soap is suitable for facial cleansing. Just as hand cream is not intended for facial skin care.

Face soaps have a gentler formula and contain nourishing oils, or hydrating ingredients. They generally do not contain, or contain in very small amounts, ingredients that can be harsh on sensitive skin (alcohol, SLS, SLES…). Therefore, it is very important to use a soap specifically designed for facial cleansing and for your skin type. In that case, you will not have problems with skin dryness and irritation.

The Best Face Soap for Your Skin Type

Since they appeared on our market, products from the British brand Carbon Theory have completely won the hearts of fans of vegan cosmetics and eco-friendly packaging. Their face soaps have also impressed us with their gentle formulas. Not only do they effectively cleanse the skin, but each of them also has an additional purpose and benefit.

Facial Cleansing Bar CARBON THEORY Charcoal & Tea Tree Oil

For thorough cleansing and detoxification of the face, the so-called black face soap is recommended. It contains activated charcoal powder (which is why it has a black colour), which gently removes impurities, toxins and excess sebum, not only from the surface, but also from the deeper layers of the skin. Tea tree oil is also added to the soap formulation, which is known as an antiseptic. It reduces inflammatory processes on the skin and keeps it clean and healthy. The soap is enriched with shea butter and glycerin, does not contain perfumes and alcohol, so it does not dry out the skin. In addition to cleaning the face, it can also be used for the body. It is recommended for detoxification and thorough cleansing of the skin on the back and cleavage. It is used for all skin types and everyday use.

Facial Cleansing Bar CARBON THEORY Vitamin C & Caffeine

This soap is a great choice for anyone who has an uneven complexion and hyperpigmentation on the face. It can be used in both morning and evening skin care and cleansing rituals. It contains vitamin C, citric acid and caffeine, which work together to lighten dark spots on the skin and even out the complexion, restoring freshness and radiance to the face. The soap is enriched with glycerin and shea butter, which are gentle on the skin, do not dry out the face and help the skin maintain its natural level of hydration. It is suitable for all skin types. It can also be used on sensitive skin, as it does not contain perfumes and alcohol, as well as on skin prone to acne. It is also recommended for oily skin, as it effectively cleans pores and removes excess sebum.

Face Soap against Pimples

Carbon Theory Facial Soap with salicylic acid is our recommendation for oily skin prone to pimples. Thanks to its unique composition, primarily salicylic acid (1.8%), it penetrates into the deeper layers of the skin, acting as a chemical scrub. In this way, dead skin cells are removed, giving the face a fresh, smooth appearance and an even complexion. Salicylic acid effectively cleans pores, regulates sebum secretion and reduces the appearance of acne, without disrupting the skin’s natural barrier. This is why it is recommended to use this product preventively, not only when acne already exists on the skin. This soap also contains shea butter, so it does not dry out the skin, but leaves it hydrated and soft. It can be used daily (morning and evening) and is suitable for all skin types.

What to Choose for Daily Facial Cleansing

Is soap, gel, foam or micellar water better for facial cleansing? The answer to this question is quite individual. That’s why it’s best to try several different products and start using the one that suits you best. That’s the only way you will know what is best for you. What is great for your friend, may not suit your skin.
