Korean women are known for their youthful appearance of the skin, radiant and even complexion, which is envied by women around the world. Although the secret of their beauty has been kept for a long time, today Korean cosmetics are available to everyone. We tried to reveal all the details about the way of skin care for women from this part of Asia. Below we reveal 10 steps of Korean skin care.

1. Korean facial care – the first step: oil-based skin cleanser

Facial cleansing is a basic step for proper skin care. It is well known that removing make-up from the face, before going to bed, is mandatory. Koreans strictly adhere to this rule. Daily, they use oil makeup remover and facial cleanser. They apply it directly on the skin and rub in with light circular movements. The use of this product is the first step of Korean facial care. The oil make-up remover effectively “absorbs” the remnants of makeup and cream, removes excess sebum and impurities from the pores. After rubbing into the skin, it is necessary to slightly wet the face and additionally massage the product, in order to improve the cleansing process. This is followed by a thorough rinsing of the face with warm water.

2. Double facial cleansing is necessary

Korean skin care involves the use of several different products with a similar purpose. Removing makeup with an oil-based product alone is not enough. In order to remove all traces of make-up and impurities, women from the East also use a water-based product

Applying different products in layers may seem excessive, but each of them has its own role. The water-based makeup remover is in the form of foam or gel. It is most often applied to damp skin, rubbed lightly until a foam or creamy texture is formed, and then rinsed off with water. By cleaning the facial skin with a water-based agent, the remaining impurities, traces of make-up, and the remnants of the oil remover are removed. At the same time, the skin prepares for the next step.

3. Third step: peeling for thorough skin cleansing

After removing make-up and impurities, it is time for facial peeling for deep cleansing and removal of dead skin cells. This step can sometimes be skipped, because peeling treatments are not recommended for daily use, especially for people with sensitive skin. By removing the dead layers of the skin, the pores are completely opened and cleaned. After the treatment, the skin remains soft, smooth, and shiny and better absorbs nutrients from creams and serums. In addition, peeling stimulates circulation and speeds up the work of healthy skin cells.

4. Korean facial care cannot be imagined without a tonic

After a thorough cleansing, it is necessary to establish the pH balance of the skin, and therefore the use of toner, ie face tonic, is mandatory. Koreans for this purpose use nutritious tonics enriched with active ingredients. They provide the skin with the necessary hydration and adequate preparation for the application of other care products. The tonic is used immediately after cleansing the face. It is best to dab the product with gentle movements, starting from the nose, towards the outside. No rinsing is required.

5. Essence – a typical representative of Korean cosmetics

Korean facial care involves the use of essence. This product was not represented on our market before, because it is typical for the Korean care routine. It has a light, watery structure and slightly hydrates the skin after deep cleansing treatments. Most closely described, it is a combination of tonics and serums. That is why it is applied as the fifth step.

6. Treatment in the form of serums and ampoules

Korean facial care is adapted to each woman, or each skin type individually. It is based on the principles of applying treatments that solve specific skin problems, such as dehydration, wrinkles, acne, or blemishes on the face. Serums and ampoules for the face are highly concentrated products used for that purpose. They are formulated to meet the specific requirements of different skin types. They are enriched with nutrients in a high percentage and therefore give effective results. They are applied in small amounts on previously cleansed and prepared skin.

In this step, the most important thing is to choose a product that suits the needs of your skin.

7. Sheet masks – the best of Korean cosmetics

Skin hydration and regular use of a face care mask is an integral part of the k-beauty routine. Korean skin care cosmetics cannot be imagined without the famous sheet masks. They are known for their easy application and hydrating effect. They are made of paper or gel “handkerchief”, which is soaked in nourishing serum. Korean sheet masks have slits for the eyes, nose, and mouth and are easy to use. The mask should be left to work for about 20 minutes and then removed, and the remains of the serum massaged into the skin. This step is a favorite of many. In addition to care, it allows for a short rest and relaxation.

As with the previous step, when choosing a sheet face mask, take into account your skin type and the problems it faces.

8. Eye skin care is extremely important in Korean skin care

Korean skin care routine requires special care for the most sensitive parts of the face. Korean women are aware that they first notice wrinkles in the region around the eyes, which is extremely thin and sensitive. That is why they use moisturizing creams and appropriate masks for skin care around the eyes every day.

The Korean gel eye patch mask is enriched with a high concentration of active ingredients, which are gentle on the skin. The eye patches are intended for single use. They are easily placed on the area under the eye and removed after 10-20 minutes. After removing the patches, dab the remains of the serum into the skin, lightly, without sudden movements and rubbing. The gel mask deeply hydrates the skin, relieves wrinkles, reduces puffiness under the eyes and the appearance of dark circles under the eyes.

9. Korean skin care can not do without a moisturizer

Korean skin care face products are enriched with ingredients that intensively hydrate the skin and act to solve a specific problem. Korean face creams are also adapted to skin types, and the most important thing is to find the one that suits you. In addition to nourishing the face, moisturizers are also used as a protective barrier, which prevents the skin from drying out. Koreans usually apply them in the morning and evening, in circular motions, with a light massage.

10. Moisturizing face creams with a protective factor

Korean skin care cannot be imagined without adequate sun protection. This is one of the main reasons why Asians have youthful skin. Korean women are very aware of the importance of protecting the skin from harmful UV radiation. They do not leave the house without applying the appropriate cream with SPF protection factor.

If you want your skin to stay young for a long time, after using basic facial care products, be sure to use creams with a protective factor. They are the final but very important step in the Korean skin care process. It is necessary to use them every time before make-up, for a day out.

Sunscreens are a mandatory part of skin care cosmetics, regardless of the season. The high degree of harmful UV radiation is not only characteristic for the summer months, but also during the winter and cloudy days.

Korean skin care – the path to beautiful skin

Modern women, under the pressure of obligations, have less and less time to devote to basic care rituals and often choose quick and short-term solutions. This is not the case with women in Asia (Korea, Japan and China). For them, skin care is a special ritual, which requires additional attention and time. Korean skin care is deeply rooted in the lifestyle of Asian women. They have a different philosophy and approach to the routine of care and beautification in relation to women from the West. Korean women give priority to thorough skin care and moderate make-up. They are very disciplined and usually apply all 10 described steps every day.

In short, the Korean skin care routine tells us that the order in which the products are applied is extremely important. One product is usually not enough for a complete treatment, and sun protection of the skin plays a key role in maintaining a youthful appearance and even complexion. The correct choice of products and the order of their application is halfway to beautiful and healthy facial skin. In the beginning, you do not have to apply all the steps every day, but it is very important to adjust the cosmetics and care routine to the needs of your skin.
