Dimethicone

Dimethicone belongs to the group of silicone polymers and is one of the most commonly represented silicones in cosmetic products. Many of these products we use daily: face and hand creams, sunscreens, shampoos, hair conditioners, etc.

Dimethicone is responsible for a silky-velvet texture, as it leaves a thin and smooth colourless layer (film) on the skin or hair. This layer also creates a protective barrier (without the sensation of heaviness) and in this way helps the skin or hair to retain softness, optimal moisture level and a hydrated look. Thanks to its smoothing ability, dimethicone is a common ingredient in makeup primers, anti-wrinkle creams, and other products that are intended for filling pores, fine lines, and evening out the texture of facial skin.
