SPF is an abbreviation for the English term Sun Protection Factor, which represents the degree of skin protection from the sun's UV rays. This abbreviation is found on creams, lotions, and other products intended for sunbathing, or for protecting the skin of the face and body from burns and other unwanted occurrences during sunbathing. Along with the SPF label, there are also numbers (from 5 to 100), which symbolize the level of protection. In fact, these numbers tell us how many times longer we can sunbathe, without skin damage, after properly applying cream with SPF, compared to sunbathing time without using protective creams.
